Friend Advocacy Service
Do you have mental health problems?
Do you struggle to be heard?
An Advocate may be able to help you.
What is Advocacy?
In mental health, advocacy refers to the support a person receives to enable them to make clear to others what they need and what their views are regarding their care. In other words, to have an independent person stand alongside you to help you get your voice heard.
Do I have to be a member of Friend to receive Advocacy help and support?
It is not necessary to be a Member of Friend in order to use this service. The service is open to all people living in North Somerset of working age with mental health issues.
Statutory Advocacy
Friend is contracted to provide statutory independent mental health advocacy (funded NHS) and independent mental capacity advocacy (funded North Somerset Council).
