Counselling
Sadly, we are not able to offer any Counselling - and only very limited listening support due to time constraints upon our workers.
Counselling or Listening is asked of us very frequently and we are always disappointed in having to offer a negative response. We recognise the huge benefits that people can obtain simply by having the opportunity to explore their feelings in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
Despite all efforts, we have not yet succeeded in obtaining funding support for this vital part of the "whole person" service we believe in.
Friend is an organisational Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and we work under a Code of Conduct that has been approved by the BACP. We believe we are ideally placed in all respects - having two easily accessible town centre venues, excellent facilities to offer people a discreet, calm, empathetic and welcoming environment.
We continue to place funding provision for counselling at the top of our priority list and seek to resource this both from independent Charitable Organisations as well as tendering for local service contracts whenever the opportunity arises.
The BACP will provide a list of individual counsellors, psychotherapists and professional bodies
